New to Medicare

Individuals are new to Medicare when they become eligible for Medicare for the first time, due to turning age 65 or another qualifying event. Effective outreach can help to spread the word about becoming a Medicare recipient, with your unbiased and free assistance. Use the Welcome to Medicare series to educate community members newly eligible for Medicare. The videos and PowerPoint presentations are available in various languages.​

Preventive care and service outreach can be targeted towards individuals new to Medicare or renewing members. These outreach tools can come in the form of letters, articles, and more. See the items in Preventive Services for outreach inspiration.​
